Another Doctor Visit

We missed his 6 month checkup because of an event, & yesterday was the next available date, so to avoid waiting another month or two, we decided that I would take him & Marcus would work the event this time by himself.

19.6 pounds.  We kept getting comments on his chubbiness.  And all the girls loved his booties that my mom made him for Christmas (BB has matching ones).

I got reprimanded for feeding him potatoes & bite of eggs.  And because Isaiah isn't sleeping at least 12 hours a night.  He got 6 shots.  He screamed & cried for a minute then calmed down when I picked him up.

He passed out immediately once in the car.  Got upset every time I took him out because I had to run a few errands.  And was very fussy when I absolutely had to go to the Apple store.

He slept for awhile when we got home, but since falling asleep at night, he's been waking up quite frequently.  To just cry or to cry & nurse.  There he goes again - poor little one.

This is what he looked like when awake - cuddly & sad.

More Shots

At the Doctor's office again.  She told me my son looks like a girl.  That he is short for his age.  And that he should be sleeping more than he is.  Then she made this nurse give him four shots & an oral.  My poor baby!

Before that, we had a long day of errands.  I don't know why we bring our baby.  It always takes us 3 times as long to do the errands.  But it's pretty fun hanging out with him.  Wanna see some big eyes?

To save time, I fed him in his carseat from the bottle I made for the sitter because we were going to take him there before we realized we couldn't go all the way there & do our errands on time.

We went to do a photo shoot at one of our restaurants.  He loved it there.

The highlight - all the girls.  If I ever am missing an Isaiah smile, I just need to introduce him to a new girl.

At the doctor's office, I got the best pictures of him while we were in the waiting room.  An extra long time because the receptionist forgot to put us in the back office system.

Later he was so tired, he did something he hasn't done in awhile; he laid on my chest...

And fell asleep.

Shots = Crack

I forgot to mention last time when discussing the doctor visit...  Isaiah is 11 pounds!  That just makes me really happy & proud.  My milk is allowing my baby to grow.  (He was 7.1 when he was born).

The day he got his first round of shots, he slept a lot.  We thought that was a good sign.  The doctor joked that she wished she could give her girls shots just so they would sleep.

However, the next day was quite a different picture.  Isaiah didn't sleep at all.

He would eat & play & get his diaper changed here & there.  He was a happy baby...

Then he would get fussy like he was tired.

Yes, he's definitely tired.  Don't know if you can tell, but he's got 2 fistfuls of my hair.

All normal.

Then he would lay down to take a nap, and it would take forever to get him to sleep.  Still moderately normal.

Then he would go to sleep.  Are those crossed legs not the most adorable thing ever?

But he would only sleep for maybe 2 minutes.  The longest nap was 10 minutes.

Then he would wake up a completely new baby, like he had been sleeping for hours...

Ready to conquer the world.

This went on & on & on all day & night until about 3 in the morning.  Then FINALLY, when I was contemplating drinking some coffee to study while staying up all night, he decided to stay asleep.

That first day of sleeping was nice, but I would never wish for that day knowing what the next day would bring.

Shots & Attitudes

Yesterday we went to the doctor.  This would be visit number 2.  Last week we went for our second midwife visit.  We're double checking his healthiness level.  It's high.

I wanted to video tape the visit, because it was his first round of shots.  But of course, the Flip my dad gave me & my camera were both out of batteries.  Good thing I had my iPhone.

Turns out someone else was the star of the show that day.  Little A.  He was in a horrible mood, so upset that his daddy was making him wear his hat.

But after taking a few moments...

And giving his little brother some love...

And hanging out with the boys...

He was happy again.

Just in time to put on a show for the ladies.  Isaiah's doctor is A's doctor too, so he knew he had to be a good little boy for her.  And every single lady we saw (about 20) told him how much they loved his hat.

Isaiah got his shots, and he screamed, and it was sad.  But then, right after this picture, he passed out in his daddy's arms.
