Bumbo Boo Boo

Here's the thing about the Bumbo chair.  You shouldn't put your breast fed baby in it unless you're really really positive he won't be pooping any time soon. 

This evening I made this mistake for the third time.  I really thought I was in the clear.  It had been over an hour since he'd eaten, and he usually always poops shortly after eating.  I really needed to cook, so I put him in the Bumbo so he could watch me & I could watch him. 

As I was separating eggs, a very delicate process for me, I heard a soft rumble.  Poopy time.  I had to finish separating that egg I was working, and it wasn't cooperating.  Then he started to cry.  I looked up, and he had also spit up all over himself.  Adios mio Isaiah.  I finished without getting yolk all in the egg whites, and I picked my little fussy baby up. 

There was a humungous lake of poop settled in the seat of the Bumbo.  And it was all over the top of one of his legs. 

Getting him to the changing table (across the room & into another) was a difficult task to accomplish without allowing poop to drip all over the path along the way.  So was wiping the poop off the leg before I let him rest on the table to avoid smeering poop all over it, his clothes & the rest of his body. 

He needed a bath anyway.

Why was the lake of poop much more vast than the last two?  For some reason, Isaiah hadn't pooped for 2 days.
