Christmas Shopping with Hattie (my Couch)
Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 06:07PM It's been dark & dreary all day long. People say it's freezing. But I don't know about that because I haven't been out there yet. I slept in unintentionally. I still sometimes stay up late like the pre-prego days and then think I'll get up early. And then I remember that I need sleep now.
I opened up my email with the intention of organizing everything & catching up on my entrepreneur newletters. Instead I followed a link to a maternity sale at Gap. Then I saw their shipping special for anything ordered from any of their stores, which included Old Navy.
Then I decided that I would get all my Christmas shopping done early.
Yes, this is a record time for me. Usually I wait until Christmas Eve, valet at the mall & buy for everyone in one day. Valet is a crucial part for me as it is usually freezing & ridiculously crowded. $5-$10 is a SMALL price to pay for the convenience of not walking miles from my parking space to the entrance.
I've always loved the idea of buying online, but usually waited too long to have everything shipped on time. Not this year!
I proceeded to call all family members asking them what they wanted. This is the biggest Christmas we've had yet. I have the seven immediate members, 2 in laws & a neice & nephew. Using only four websites, all with no shipping charges & two with no sales tax, everyone is off the list. I have leftover wrapping paper from last year. This feeling of preparedness is exhilerating.
Thankfully, I also already got Marcus his Christmas/Birthday present. He's a New Year's Eve baby, turning 30 this year, so it had to be a good one. I got it really early, he needed it really early, so I gave it to him.
But notice I didn't mention the other new familial additions... My in-laws. I'll be spending Christmas day probably with my boyfriend & his family, which include his brother, his brothers three children, their mom & dad. What do I do about them? If I think about it too long, I'll start getting stressed, so I'll stop for now & wait for your advice.

Oh yeah, remember what I was originally doing with my email? I still haven't organized any emails, and I didn't buy any maternity clothes.
