A Little After 13 Months
Friday, July 8, 2011 at 09:31PM Of course I'm late in writing about Isaiah's growth. He turned 13 months on June 26th.
He's doing the cutest things these days. You know about the walking. He doesn't have it down quite yet, meaning it's not his primary mode of transportation. If he tries & fails to get halfway somewhere, he will sit there for a moment then finish the track by crawling. But he is so proud of himself when he makes it!
He has located his pickle. He was in the bathtub & he peed. It shot up in the air, and then he was curious as to where the fountain came from. So he found the source & started investigating. Marcus got a video, but that's probably not appropriate to post here.
He is eating everything, but sometimes he will only eat bread. He LOVES bread. Probably because it's delicious, but more importantly because he can eat it all by himself. He also loves bananas & strawberries & watermelon. Okay he loves fruit.
When we moved back into town, Isaiah went from staying with a friend of the family all day to attending a daycare/school called Shepherd's School. It's similar to a Montessori school I think, in that there is more structure & they teach instead of just letting them play all day, & they move to different rooms based on where they are developmentally not by age. He didn't like it for the longest time. I think it was because he was in the non-walking room, which seemed pretty boring. When he started napping & eating along the same schedule as the rest of the kids in the school, they moved him to the next room - beginner walkers. Now he loves it! He laughs & laughs when I drop him off & pick him up. He says Mommy when I arrive & walks to me. And then he blows kisses to the teachers.
The whole talking thing is the most awesome of everything he's doing. He has been saying momma & daddy for a long time, but it was never really directed at us. Now he knows who we are & the names that match us. Speaking of names, he's trying to say his. Iiiii-say, Iiiiiisss... He says koookoooo & picka, picka picka, & menga, menga, menga. And I swear the other day he said thank you.
