Hair Hair Hair

There's so much hair.

I have long, dark Hawaiian hair, of which I don't take fabulous care, so I'm no stranger to seeing my hair lying around.  In the sink.  On the bathroom floor.  In the shower.  In the drain of the shower.

But I'm pretty sure it's much worse now.  Now I just want to put my hair in a ponytail all the time because I'm so tired of it.  On the bed.  On the burp towel.  In the car seat.  In the swing.  In Isaiah's clothes.  In his hands because he manages to find a gigantic handfull of my hair even when it's up.  In his mouth because his hands are in his mouth.  In the folds of his chubby little neck.  Gross.

Yeah it's definitely worse.

According to the Internet, I'm not the only one.  It's called telogen effluvium.  And it happens because for some reason during pregnancy, more than normal amounts of hair go into a resting phase.  The also more than normal hormones keep hair from falling out during pregnancy.  But later when the hormones go back down, the hair can now continue its cycle & fall out.

Good news - the hair follicles are "rejuvinating" themselves & will return to normal.  Bad news - it won't be normal again until 6-12 months.

That seems like forever.

yup i had the same thing. it came out in these 2 patches on either corner of my forehead so i had to wear my hair wierd to try to cover it up until it grew back in. then had to cut my bangs to disguise the fact that i had the 2 patches of hair in the front that were way shorter than the rest. have fun with that.
